Greetings to you all

The thing that always amazed me in Peterborough is the bond between the city and the community. People in the community are warm, welcoming and friendly. The most fantastic part is that they are there for each other. Our Health Services Foundation supports Family Health Team, which is a team who provides best healthcare for patients.

Hi, you all might not know me but my name is Chit and I will be a social media intern at Health Services Foundation for next couples of weeks. I will be writing stories, educational tips for healthy living, our current events and activities , my reflection on new things I am learning, etc.

Last last week (May 07, 2014), we had our donors focus group meeting at our office 150 King St. It was a great turnout. First of all, I would like to thank our donors who came by to share their insights. It was a delightful day.

During our meeting, we discussed about different topics. There were intense discussions between our donors and we found out some fascinating perspectives from them. It was amazing and we had so much fun. Lunch was so yummy too. ( Gotta love Food) One of the interesting thing we found out from our donors was about our name. Yes ... yes ...  we know it's a long name ( Greater Peterborough Health Services Foundation) but really, you can call us anything you like GPHSF ? Health Services Foundation? HSF ? ( my persona fav. ) Some donors pointed out that they have some attachment for the old name and they would like to see it referred. They said there was something bond with the sisters. For those who don't know our history, there is a short recap. We started as "the St. Joseph's General Hospital Foundation". Then  St. Joseph's Health Center closed in 1999. So we changed our focus to our Peterborough Community Health Services. You can read more about our History at http://www.gphsf.ca/foundation_history.htm . Overall, the meeting let us see different points of view from our donors and give us a chance to understand more about our donors. I am so glad to hear all the opinions.

Well this is all for today. It is a lovely day and I hope everyone have a great day.

Chit
